According to Friday, January 2nd’s Entertainment Section of the The Capital Gazette, Rams Head On Stage’s expansion makes #3 in a top ten list of buzz and excitement in 2008 in and around Annapolis. For those of you who missed it:
Rams Head On Stage Expands | Rams Head Tavern on West Street expanded its On Stage facility this summer by adding 75 seats. The upgraded 308-seat venue has allowed Rams Head to attract such performers a Boney James, Gregg Allman, Victor Wooten, Sara Barielles and Fountains of Wayne – performers who may otherwise have skipped a stop in Annapolis. | According to Pollstar magazine, Rams Head On Stage is the No. 1 club with under 500 seats in the world. Paperback Tragedy is a pop/hardcore punk foursome from Baltimore, MD. Though once described by the Baltimore City Paper as “Snowboard Punk,” these boys work hard to defy genre while remaining true to their dirty little punk rock souls.
Seriously, a co-bill couldn’t get much better than this.
The young and soulful Sonya Kitchell and the ridiculously talented Raul Midon on January 8 at Rams Head On Stage.
I don’t think I could ever get tired of listening to that guy. He not only has some serious guitar chops but he also plays a mean mouth trumpet (no joke! click here to check it out). Then you have Sonya, who, at the ripe old age of 19 has been spending her last few years of teen-dom lighting the world on fire…landing a spot on Starbucks Hear Music program, touring with Herbie Hancock, appearing on David Letterman and the Late Late Show Craig Ferguson among many, many other things. Check out a little taste of Raul and Sonya performing live…
