Bald is Beautiful.

Mark and Josh, Baldrick's stage 1Bald is beautiful – especially when it’s for a good cause. And could there be a better cause than fundraising for for childhood cancer research?

Mark Colberg and Josh O’Neill stepped up to snippers and we couldn’t wait to share our photos from the event:

St. Baldrick’s is the world’s largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. Thousands of volunteers shave their heads in solidarity of children with cancer, while requesting donations of support from friends and family.

There's no going back now!

There's no going back now!

Businesses, organizations, families and friends can get involved via partnerships, sponsorships and individual donations. To learn more, locate a nearby event, or to meet the kids and sponsor a child, visit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation online.

And for those of you plan to stop by Rams Head Tavern Annapolis tomorrow afternoon for the annual St. Patty’s Party, we hearing rubbing the head of a bald General Manager is good luck.

My Give a Damn’s Busted.

Music speaks to the soul; often bringing back memories of childhood, friendship, celebrations and life’s journey in general. But, especially in moments of despair, music often is the outlet that liberates us, giving us the strength to move on… to fight back… to keep believing… TO GET OVER A MAN!

For me, as a single gal in her 20′s, no artist dared to compare to the vocal that rang from JoDee Messina’s lips.  From her lips, straight to my troubled heart..

JoDee’s tunes wrap up the movie he’s just not that into you, combined with Aretha Franklin’s Respect and a touch of Carrie Underwood’s Before He Cheats (without the Louisville Slugger), to create a modern day country “get over him” twang.

Anytime I let an unworthy (aren’t they all unworthy when we break up!) man step on my heart, a simple solution did the trick; a car ride with the top down on my convertible, the breeze blowing through my hair, and me belting out the words to My Give a Damn’s Busted, the ever popular peace out song Bye Bye, or the I’ll show you what you’re missing I’m Alright .  Just a few moments with JoDee and I was fixed from looking to the past and that silly “man”.

So, the next time that you go thru this: (click here)

Ditch the idea of sulking over a pint of ice cream in your PJ’s with a sad chick flick and instead download a few from JoDee’s greatest hits, pump up the volume and I promise the world will look much brighter thru your honky tonk sunglasses.

Who’s Your Paddy?!

It’s that time again. The air is just beginning to warm. Those harsh and bitter winds are settling as if the sun commands it. Bold beams of light break through a winter wall of grey. From our offices (and surely up and down West Street) we can hear the kegs rolling out to the back lot. Site leaders shout helpful hints to their crew as these pink-cheeked recruits hoist that mighty party tent. Wires are crossed, static buzzes, and the stage is set. Anxious locals peek over the fences or sneak back to the lot in hopes of being the first to guzzle that glowing green delight.

Mmmmmmmmmm…… 50¢ Guinness Drafts, $2 Green Beer, $4 Fordhams, and $5 Car Bombs….. Must be St. Patty’s at the Rams Head of your choice! Where there’s NEVER A COVER – especially if you’re Irish.

“Tricky returns to form with daring ‘Knowle West Boy’”

I came across this article by Rashod Ollison at baltimoresun.com and we love Tricky so I had to share!

Tricky took a five-year hiatus from recording. His latest CD – Knowle West Boy, released in July – is an energetic return to form, brilliant with genre-defying soundscapes. To promote it, the DJ/producer/musician is kicking off a five-week national club tour. Tricky headlines Rams Head Live on Tuesday.

Brandon + Chelsea = Love Forever.

A definite highlight amidst a run of fabulous shows, was a marriage proposal at Saturday night’s Michael Franti & Spearhead performance at Rams Head Live! Luckily, we were able to catch it on video – so if you know Brandon and Chelsea, please send them the link.

Rams Head wishes you all the luck in the world, and a life full of Franti-esque love and positivity.

SNOW DAY!!

Nothing was better when I woke up as a kid the sounds of:

Anne Arundel County Schools are CLOSED

Now that I’m older (?), wiser (?) the snuggled in bed celebration is the same, but the meaning is different.   It means a day off of work, a day to play in the snow… a day to drink a beer by 12noon!

In the spirit of the SNOW DAY, Rams Head will be offering Happy Hour pricing until 7pm.  $2.50 Draft Beer, House Wine & Rail Drinks.

So, make your snowman, throw some snowballs, and then come and relax at the Rams Head for some cozy food with your good friends… and Happy Hour pricing.

snowday

(and if anyone finds out who the guy is in the picture, i owe him a beer for starring in our snow day campaign.)
