So this was a big week for show announcements at Rams Head On Stage. I mean, when a guy travels around the country in this…
it’s not exactly like we’re trying to keep it a secret that he’s coming into town. And sure enough, there’s been qutie a flurry since the tickets went on sale yesterday and there are only a handful of tickets still available for the show. But that wasn’t the only big announcement. Nope. We just piled them on one after another (including one of my favorite performers, Buckwheat Zydeco). Here’s the complete list of what went on sale yesterday!
Wednesday, December 14|Bret Michaels
Anyone who got to see Bret Michaels’ instantly sold out show here last April can tell you: after more than 20 years in the business this award winning, multi platinum superstar’s career continues to move at warp speed. As front man for the legendary rock band Poison, Michaels has sold 25 million records and scored an amazing 15 chartbusting Top 40 singles including “Talk Dirty to Me,” “Something to Believe In,” “Nothing But a Good Time” and the timeless #1 smash “Every Rose Has its Thorn.”
Sunday, February 26 | Buckwheat Zydeco
“Buck and the band spit out the kind of crackling music that’s been missing since the heyday of Stax Records…On stage the attack is relentless…Stanley Dural has hit his stride.” -The Wall Street Journal
If you’ve seen a Buckwheat show, you know what to expect: rocking, stomping, good time Creole party music. If you haven’t seen Buckwheat Zydeco live, you’re missing one of the music world’s most exciting and fun performers. The Grammy award winner returns to Annapolis with Zydeco music that will keep your feet stomping!
Wednesday, March 7 | Playing For Change Band Peace Through Music
Musicians from different cultures uniting together for the common purpose of peace through music is a powerful statement. For the past four years Playing For Change has traveled the world with a mobile recording studio and cameras in search of such inspiration. Throughout the journey they created a family of over 100 musicians from all walks of life drawing them together with “Songs Around The World.” The Playing For Change Band is the next chapter in this remarkable story. Now people everywhere can witness first hand the transformational power of music and love that comes from the Playing For Change Band.
Friday, March 16 | The Rovers with Crossing Celtic Kicking Off St. Paddys Day Weekend
The Rovers have taken the Celtic music scene by storm thanks to an eclectic mix of traditional roots and blazing instrumentals with an amped up rock twist. Their musicianship and show is nothing short of high octane. Their fan base is continually expanding and covers people of all ages from all walks of life. Fronted by Ray Murphy (lead guitar) from Dublin Ireland and backed by Jenn Garmen (fiddle), Eddie McGowan (bass and bagpipes), Jim Martin, (percussion), and drummer Garet Howard. They are sure to keep you on edge until the final track has been played.
Saturday, March 31 | Shawn Colvin
In an era when female singer-songwriters are ever more ubiquitous, Shawn Colvin stands out as a singular and enduring talent. As a storyteller, Colvin is both keen and warm-hearted, leavening even the toughest tales with tenderness, empathy, and a searing sense of humor. In the 19 years since the release of her debut album, Colvin has won three Grammy Awards, released eight albums, maintained a non-stop national and international touring schedule, appeared on countless television and radio programs, had her songs featured in major motion pictures, and created a remarkable cannon of work.
Thursday, May 24 | Tommy Emmanuel
A household name in his native Australia, two-time Grammy Award winner Tommy Emmanuel has garnered hundreds of thousands of loyal fans worldwide. Tommy’s unique style — he calls it simply “finger style” — is akin to playing guitar the way a pianist plays piano, using all ten fingers. Rather than using a whole band for melody, rhythm, bass, and drum parts, Tommy plays all that — and more — on one guitar.
Tuesday, July 17 | Dave Mason Co-Founder of Traffic
The Worchester England native teamed up with Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi and Chris Wood to form the legendary band Traffic. Mason’s song “Feelin’ Alright” has become a rock and roll anthem, having been recorded by well over 48 artists, the best known version being by Joe Cocker. Dave Mason’s career spans over 37 years and has encompassed producing, performing and song writing.
