To celebrate the June 14^th release of his upcoming album, All Things Bright and Beautiful, Adam Young is touring the nation with his synthesizer in hand to captivate audiences with a galactic performance. Of course, we all remember the song that first made us fall in love with Owl City… Fireflies! As one critic says, “’Fireflies’ is filled with whimsy from its lyrics about ten million fireflies to the sweetly simple melodies. It’s difficult to listen to ‘Fireflies’ without a smile creeping across your face… From the first synthesizer blips that kick off ‘Fireflies,’ you feel yourself being taken off to a playful and fanciful musical world… The synthesized melodies gradually crescendo to a cathartic chorus giving the music some gravity just when it could drown in a sea of sugary sweetness.”

Also tagging along for the ride is Adam’s fellow Seattle native, Johnathon Ford, aka Unwed Sailor. Sunday Funday is on the horizon and we want to make sure you have all the info you need to maximize your good times.

I’ve made the list. Now you check it twice.

1. Bring your yoga mat and get there at doors if you plan to join in the mass open-air session on the lawn.

2. Sunscreen will be a must for when you are out in the lawn hula hooping to your hearts content.

3. If you’ve got lawn seats be sure to bring your blankets and low-back chairs.

4. Study up on your music trivia! We’ll be handing out autographed festival posters for trivia and hula hooping winners.

5. Umbrellas just in case!

Buzzing with anticipation, the Pier Six Pavilion sits stoically upon the Baltimore inner harbor like a sleeping dragon. Water churns around the edge of the docks and winds gust beneath the canopy. The lights are low but the energy is high and this dormant dragon is ready to breathe some serious hell fire in 2011.

In launching the this season, we had to bear in mind that Baltimore is no city to be messed with. Baltimore will drop it like a bad habit if they ain’t down so we knew we needed a band that could set the stage for the entire summer to really rip something righteous. Welcome to Rockin’ the Docks 2011! Grab a seat and hold on tight as we take you through every imaginable desire of the musical pallet. We’ve got your pop, your rock, your rap, rip roarin’ guitars, ballads…you name it! While we are continuing to add shows as the season gears up, we’ve got a nice hand-picked selection of tunes from some of the artists who are locked and loaded for the Pier Six in 2011.
