Tuesday, September 6 | Kenny Wayne Shepherd finally in Annapolis!

Kenny Wayne Shepherd started teaching himself guitar at an age when most kids are still focused on recess and lunch boxes. Shepherd released his first in a string of platinum albums while still in high school, but the Shreveport, Louisiana born guitarist/singer/songwriter has never forgotten his roots nor his influences. Placed behind only B.B. King and Eric Clapton in a Guitar World list of blues guitarists, and a guy who also specializes in rock, Shepherd has graciously utilized his own stature, acting as a gateway for younger fans, to shine a spotlight on the great bluesmen of the past.

As Terry Lickona, producer of the PBS-TV show Austin City Limits said it best, “Monte Montgomery blows people away. There’s no other way to describe it.”

Drawing inspiration from the road, family, home, love and longing, Séan engages his audience with his collection of first person narratives; whether it’s told from a barstool or a battlefield, each song invites the listener to briefly live in the life of another.

When you hear the Blind Boys singing it is as instantly recognizable as it is original, inhabiting a place in the soul no others can.
