‘Tis the season to be jolly! The Rams Head Restaurants kick off December with a beer release party! And, this popular brew will be sure to get you in the holiday sprit. This Thursday, December 1st, 2011 you can join the party and try the popular Fordham Brewing Company’s Doppelbock from 4pm-6pm. During the release you can purchase a $4 glass and receive an additional pour for $2.50 each.  Attend the Doppelbock beer release party on Thursday, December 1st at your local Rams Head restaurant. Bring a camera OR use your phone, but take pictures of  everyone, including yourself enjoying the new brew!

Email your photos to nparsons@ramsheadtavern.com no later than Friday, December 2nd by Noon. Name the email: Doppelbock rocked! Include in the email your name, and the Rams Head location.(Remember these pictures will be posted online, so please keep it clean!)

Doppelbock: Our interpretation of one of the most celebrated brews of all time is here just in time for winter. This full-bodied lager has all the character you crave in a Doppelbock with a deep, complex flavor, and a rich smoothness. Enjoy this around the fireplace with friends and family or accompanying your favorite holiday meals.

In celebration of the holidays, the Rams Head restaurants will be hosting a Xmas Xtravaganza party from 6pm-9pm on Thursday, December 15^th, 2011. This year’s Xmas Xtravaganza is sure to get even the scroogiest of bah-humbugs in the holiday spirit.

To set the tone of the event, the holiday classic ‘A Christmas Story‘ will play be on repeat play while $2.50 cider and egg nog drink specials will turn up the holiday cheer.  The Rams Head Christmas tree will be ready for trimming and guests are encouraged to bring homemade ornaments or decorate the ornaments during the event. The Best Ornament will win a $50 Rams Head Gift Card. The event will also culminate with the return of the ugliest sweater contest , the winner this year could win 4 tickets to any Rams Head Live show in the 2012 ticket season. So, make sure you take out the ugly sweater grandma gave you!!

The Xtravaganza will also include an unique beer release. The Fordham Brewing Company will be releasing a small batch of the new brew “Espresso Milk Stout”. According to Walter Trifari, head brewmaster of Fordham Brewing , the Espresso Milk Stout is Full bodied Stout brewed with lactose sugar and infused with espresso coffee. Sweet roasted stout with a subtle yet apparent coffee finish. Sounds delish, right?

Oh yes, that’s right: John Popper, the Hungarian harmonica-headliner and Blues Traveler Big Boy, is putting down some Americana Roots with the Duskray Troubadours this year and the result is something sweet!

Growing up listening to 90’s music meant bands like Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blind Melon ,Weezer,Rage Against the Machine, and many more.  If you went to high school in the nineties, these groups and their songs are probably burnt into your mind, and when they happen to play on the radio you’re taken back to some memories you might want to remember or wish you don’t.  If you’re like me, these songs take me back to the HFSitival concert, remember wearing jeans with one of these band shirts or  being out on Friday nights or all summer long, and singing along with these artist popular songs.

One of my favorite artist growing up was Stone Temple Pilots. I mean every girl crushes over Singer, Scott Weiland. And, every dude wanted to be him. The band’s early hard rock, grunge- reminiscent style of music found them immediate success in 1992 with the release of their debut album Core. That same year, the band won a Grammy for “Best Hard Rock Performance” for the song “Plush”.

You can turn up the volume all the way up to songs like  Vasoline, Wicked Garden, Down or Sex Type Thing. This band has been rocking it up live since 1986. And, we’re excited to announce that we’re kicking off Pier Six Pavilion this summer with STP on Tuesday, April 26th. And, since we know that tons of you love the 90′s just like we do.  We wanted to give you a chance to show why you should win a pair of VIP tickets to see STP with us!
