About Wisteria Wheat:

The Wisteria Wheat beer was named by the first Fordham brewer, Allen Young and the Rams Head Tavern General Manager, Corky Fertitta. “Allen and I were sitting on the patio one spring day, tasked with coming up with some sample names for beers for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Fire Arms. All beer names have to be approved by them before you can sell it. We came up with a couple random names then hit on Wisteria Wheat, it had a nice ring to it and the wisteria vine on our patio is well known. All these years later we can’t remember any of the other names we came up with that day, but wisteria wheat stuck, and has been, ever since, the name of one of our most beloved seasonal”.

The Wisteria Wheat utilizes a pale malt, malted wheat and torrified wheat and has an ABV of 5.8%. Fordham Brewer brews the Wisteria Wheat with Perle hops and chamomile and it has 11 IBUs. Interestingly, its flavor primarily comes from the Weizen strain of yeast, which gives it notes of banana and clove.

According to Fordhambrewing.com, Wisteria Wheat is the perfect brew to enjoy the beautiful days of spring. Wisteria Wheat is a medium body beer with a soft, velvety carbonation and a wheaty finish. This easy golden brew is sure to bring you and your friends together all spring long. Additionally, Fordham’s Wisteria Wheat won ‘2011 Best of Washington DC Beer Selection’.

Bond & Bentley is a high-energy six piece band recognized for their soul-stirring melodies. The Grilled Lincolns play what they like, period, and have shared the stage with the Roots. Pasadena offers smooth bass lines, emotional lyrics and intricate rhythms. Likewise, the Rovers have taken the Celtic music scene by storm with their unorthodox rocked out traditional music.

Don’t leave the kids behind – there will be lots for them to do in the children’s coral. This private area will feature face painters, balloon artists, an exclusive event coloring book and a local fire truck to climb on! Kids will also enjoy the brewery’s Root Beer and Ginger Ale.President and CEO of Fordham and Old Dominion, Jim Lutz, stated “Our business motto is ‘Make friends, brew good beer and have fun.’ And we believe that the best way to share our mantra is through this beer and music festival. It’s a great opportunity for the brewery to give back to the local community while having fun. ”

Tickets are $20 prior to the day of the event and $25 at the door. The price of the ticket includes five beer samples and a commemorative glass. Kids under six years old are free. Visit http://tickets.ramsheadlive.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=566 to purchase tickets. A portion of the ticket sales will go to benefit the local fire departments and the Dover Air Force Base 436th Force Support Squadron.

The 436th Force Support Squadron (436 FSS) provides quality morale, welfare, recreation and support services for the Dover Air Force Base community. It is dedicated to providing quality programs and activities to a total force of over 30,000 including retirees and almost 5,500 active duty and reserve service members and nearly 4,500 family members. These programs in the realm of Airman & Family Services, Community Services and Sustainment Services are designed to enrich the lives of the airmen and their families with opportunities for adventure, travel, dining, relaxation, fun and excitement, while keeping the military community healthy and fit.
