Rams Head celebrates Wisteria Wheat beer release

Looking to drink a cold good brew on a hot summer day? Come try the NEW  Fordham Brewing Company’s summer beer, Wisteria Wheat, on Thursday, June 2nd,  from 4-6pm at a Rams Head restaurant near you.

The Wisteria Wheat beer will be tapped at 4pm. “Wisteria Wheat is one of the most unique beers we brew. It’s got all the flavor and character of any true hefeweizen and it’s a perfect escape from this warm weather” says Rams Head Tavern Annapolis General Manager, Corky Fertitta.

The Rams Head restaurants will have limited edition glasses for the beer release. The special glass for Wisteria Wheat will be available for $4 at 4pm on release day.  Patrons who purchase the glass also receive a fill-up of the Wisteria Wheat and $1 refills during the 4-6pm release party.

During the Wisteria Wheat beer release, each Rams Head restaurant will be running a contest to celebrate the release. Each customer that purchases the Wisteria Wheat glassware will receive a raffle ticket. The manager will pick one raffle ticket and the winner will receive a pair of tickets to Creedence Clearwater Revisited and Three Dog Night show at Pier Six Pavilion on Friday, June 3rd.

According to Walter Trifari, Head Brewmaster at Fordham Brewing Company, “Wisteria Wheat is a medium bodied beer with soft, velvety carbonation and a spiced, wheaty finish to make this golden brew the perfect summertime thirst quencher. We brewed this beer with Hefeweizen yeast, Pale malts, Wheat malts, Tettnang and Magnum hops that make this brew perfect to enjoy all summer long. This beer also pairs well with tangy cheeses, fresh salads, grilled chicken, seafood and citrus style desserts.”

Food & Beer = Yum Yum!

You can’t go wrong with eating good food and drinking delicious brews! So, why not join a night of fun with the Rams Head Tavern Savage crew at the Fordham beer dinner on Thursday, March 10th.

All dishes will be paired with beers from one of the most acclaimed craft breweries in the Mid-Atlantic, Fordham Brewing Company. In 1703, Queen Anne knew you couldn’t start a colony without good local brews. So, she asked Benjamin Fordham to start a brewery in the new port of Annapolis, Maryland. Benjamin’s passion and dedication to making the highest quality brews were evident in every pint and the colony flourished!

Almost 300 years later, Fordham brewing was re-born in the heart of Annapolis in 1995. With the ever-increasing demand, this frothing Fordham giant was more than our small brewery could handle. In an effort to provide more people with our brews, our plucky staff grabbed our recipes and moved Fordham to its new castle in Dover, Delaware…a brand new stainless steel castle of opportunity!

This particular evening will feature 5 of Fordham’s craft beers.(Some being my favorite..Doppelbock & Copperhead) In an effort to perfectly pair these various hops and malts with the appropriate dish, Chef Brent Shellem has designed a menu that combines both local favorites and traditional classics. Spend an evening tantalizing your taste buds with one of Rams Head’s semi-annual beer dinners.

You can purchase tickets at www.ramsheadonstage.com or Call:410.268.4545

Presto Change-o!

And with the wave a magic wand (er, a month and a half of designs, redesigns and redesigns) we proudly present to you our brand-spankin-new Rams Head Group blog version 2.0 – or as we like to call it: the dead sexy version.

It’s a whole new world over here, thanks to one Mr. Bryan Connor, MICA design student and freelancer extraordinaire. Located within our company site, this new skin fits juuuust right.

Play around, push the buttons, wander through the blog that inspired the rebrand of the Rams Head Group.

Now, you have the opportunity to get to know your Rams Head Team authors, perhaps even hand-picking who you’d like to follow. Interested in footage from the last ‘WRNR Private Artist Showcase?’ Chances are, Wilkins caught it on the Flip. Curious about what the big yellow chicken is up to? Like Peter Parker to Spiderman, Chester always seems to have the scoop on his whereabouts. And surfing through the articles for your favorite author’s most recent post has been simplified via our very own author icons. Icons that we got to choose ourselves… yes, Mangold’s is a chicken sandwich, and if you’re already following his ‘Notes from the Bunker’ than you probably recognize that this is completely acceptable.

We’ve updated our Blog Roll and Friends as well as organized our group websites so that you can more easily navigate through the world wide web according to Rams Head. Tickets, dinner specials, Fordham’s brewing schedule, and current venue line ups are all available at the click of your mouse, right here within our blog.

Following too many friends and missed our last tweet? Know the answer to the @RamsHeadLive twicket trivia? A twitter feed is also located along the bottom, just below our ‘previous posts’.

So again, play around – have fun. Hope ya like it… and continue to keep your peepers open for aesthetic brand changes company wide. We’re celebrating 20 years here, people. ‘Bout darn time we wax, polish & shine this puppy and show you what she can really do.

Cheers,
Chester & Team Rams Head

Fordham Light Lime: 100%bsbv*

Um, ew. You actually think we’d serve that schmack? Let alone, promote it?

Give us a little credit. And give the boys over at Fordham a nod while you’re at it. The day that the Rams Head mascot turns into a purple unicorn with magical wings of pink glitter is the same day that we’ll serve a low calorie, low carb, low craft, lime flavored brew in a clear bottle.

100% bull s#*t by volume.

100% bull s#*t by volume.

Until then, you can be assured that any Fordham Light Lime or Old Dominion Ultra Mango is 100%bsbv*.

But for all of our servers, bartenders, managers, and loyal beer release attendees (all of whom were, until now, completely unware), we will still be honoring the promoted release party with commemorative ‘Fordham Light Lime’ release glassware and $1 drafts.

“Fordham Light Lime” April Fools Beer Release Party
Wednesday, April 01 at the Rams Head restaurant of your choice
$4 commemorative glassware
$1 Fordham draft of your choice
4 – 6pm

Until then…. what’s that word used to describe a tangy aftertaste? Oh yeah, ZING!

5 Brews. 5 Courses. 1 Night.

Rams Head Beer Dinner 2008

Rams Head Beer Dinner 2008

With only 30 tickets available, we’re sure these tickets will go fast!

And with Fordham and Old Dominion promoting themselves up and down the Mid-Atlantic, we figured – hey! What a great time to host a beer dinner! Lets invite Walter (Dover’s Brewmaster Extraordinaire) down to host and lets get Mikey (Annapolis Tavern Chef) to build a menu worthy of a frothy toast.

Enough blood and tears have gone into the renovations of this place. It’s time to sit back, relax, and enjoy it.

“So cozy up to crackling fire and enjoy a true treat for your taste buds.”

Tax and gratuity are included with your ticket purchase, so all you’ve got to do is show up, sit down, and drink up.
