“Best of” Album Lists and Then Make Your Own.

It’s that time of year. Every source of music information puts out their Best of 2010 Albums.   Some credible. Some not so credible.

2010 is no exception especially with the array of bad-assness that the year had to offer. Instead of giving you one more Best of Albums list, I would rather just make a list to surmise the lists.

I’ll tell you up front that mine will be only a little credible, in so far as I have ears. After all this is the girl who was so excited that we booked Rise Against…The Machine. (Yep. Go tell your friends.) But it is all the more reason for you to make your own as well. There is a comment box just down at the bottom and while you are at it, feel free to tell me exactly how wrong mine is.  You can tell me how oh so right it is as well.

In making your own list it is imperative that you follow the rules of the listing process. They must be ranked on a scale of 1 being the best. Don’t throw up 10 albums and say “these were good” and then not put them in order. You can thank NPR for keeping that method alive this year. (blob or bust, NPR!)  No ambiguity with the list method. On or off, black or white, honey dew or cantaloupe.

To view all contributing lists that I used I am gonna have to give it big up to my Largehearted Boy blog out of Alabama and his comprehensive list of the lists! Take a look at some of the other posts as this blog just happens to be a part of my secret stash.

Our Top 5 Mos Def Moments

Performer. Actor. Poet. Multi-Emmy and Grammy Nomination and Golden Globe recipient. Famous friend of many famous friends.

Mos Def presents the perfect opportunity for us to compile another list. It’s been a while, and with such large body of work, this one took some serious contemplation. What would make the top 5 Mos Def moments? Your favorite movie? Or perhaps a gut-busting cameo on the Chapelle Show? Maybe a clip of Mos as Bill Cosby’s sidekick in the short-lived series ‘The Cosby Mysteries’….

5. Mos Def freestyle on the HBO series ‘Def Poetry Jam’

4. Mos Def battles Kanye West

3. If Mos Def were President

2. Mos Def as ‘Gangstalicious’ on [Adult Swim]‘s Boondocks

1. Mos Def performing ‘UMI’ with various famous friends on Dave Chappelle’s Block Party

Mos comes to Baltimore’s Rams Head LIVE February 25th – be there.
