One of the best things about January is not the cold winter days, but the release of Fordham Brewing Company’s, Scotch Ale at the Rams Head restaurants. This year, come celebrate the release with us on Thursday, January 5th, 2012 from 4-6pm.

 Mark your calendars, and get here early. Scotch Ale is always one of our most popular releases. This beer is exceptionally smooth and thoroughly robust, the Ale has a deep delicious flavor that will warm you down to your wee little bones.

The Rams Head will have limited edition glasses for the beer release. The special glass for Scotch Ale will be available for $4 at 4pm on release day. Patrons who purchase the glass also receive a fill-up of the Scotch Ale and $1 refills during the 4-6pm release party.

According to Walter Trifari, head brew master at Fordham Brewing Company, “This unique seasonal comes out just in time to warm your soul on those chilly winter nights. We brewed this beer with a touch of Beechwood smoked malt for a smooth & subtle smokiness that we know you’ll enjoy all winter. This beer also pairs well with smoked meats, salmon & buttery cheeses such as Gouda and Brie.”

Rams Head Shore House owners Kyle Muehlhauser and Erin McNaboe purchased the previously named Island Inn from the Rosenberry family in October of 2006.  Over the course of 5 years the business has continued to evolve, adding breakfast to their business plan in 2010.   Open 365 days a year, the business is pleased to offer breakfast, lunch and dinner and has received recognition for “Best Breakfast”, “Best Beer Selection”, “Best Bar Games” and “Best Happy Hour” by the local clientele.

General Manager, Kathryn Singer, has been the General Manager of the facility for the past 2 years while Chef Jason White joined the team in the spring of 2011. “An anniversary is a time to celebrate what we have achieved in the past, what we have in the present, and to acknowledge the future.  We couldn’t have done any of it without our loyal customers and the local community. With fall just beginning and the leaves starting to change , its time to kick off October with a beer release party. Fordham Brewing Company’s, Spiced Harvest Ale is a fall seasonal beer and has a light amber color with a medium body. It’s spiced with cinnamon, ginger, clove and allspice. Fordham’s Spiced Harvest Ale pairs exceptionally well with food like Mac & cheese, chicken pot pie, harvest stew or braised vegetables.

Slightly Stoopid returns back to Pier Six Pavilion on Wednesday, August 17th with special guest Don Carlos and Karl Denson, Rebelution, Shwayze & Cisco Adler. This will be the fourth time that Slightly Stoopid has been to Pier Six. And,why do they keep returning? Well, because they ROCK! For over a decade now, Slightly Stoopid has been supplying its fans with tunes that have served as the perfect summer soundtrack and ultimate live party. Sounds fun, right?

The band is from Cali and has been playing since 1995.  You can describe their music as “a fusion of acoustic rock and blues with reggae, hip-hop, and punk“.The band was originally signed by Bradley Nowell from the band Sublime to his label Skunk Records while still in high school. How many bands can you name that were signed when they were in High School? Pretty cool. They have toured with bands like Dave Matthews Band, Sublime, The Roots, G.Love & Special Sauce, Ozomatli, Pennywise and the Vans Warped Tour.
