The Xtravaganza will also include an unique beer release. The Fordham Brewing Company will be releasing a small batch of the new brew “Espresso Milk Stout”. According to Walter Trifari, head brewmaster of Fordham Brewing , the Espresso Milk Stout is Full bodied Stout brewed with lactose sugar and infused with espresso coffee. Sweet roasted stout with a subtle yet apparent coffee finish. Sounds delish, right?

Rams Head Shore House owners Kyle Muehlhauser and Erin McNaboe purchased the previously named Island Inn from the Rosenberry family in October of 2006.  Over the course of 5 years the business has continued to evolve, adding breakfast to their business plan in 2010.   Open 365 days a year, the business is pleased to offer breakfast, lunch and dinner and has received recognition for “Best Breakfast”, “Best Beer Selection”, “Best Bar Games” and “Best Happy Hour” by the local clientele.

The boogie-lovin’ Australia’s electro-pop band ,Cut Copy is heading to Rams Head Live on July 6th.Indeed, the world’s press has been collectively breathless in their praise of the band .  I was able to catch them for the first time in 2008 with the Black Kids. I didn’t know who they were, what they sang, or anything about them. But, the whole time i couldn’t stop dancing.

 They have toured with international acts Franz Ferdinard, Bloc Party, Junior Senior and Daft Punk. And,with their new release of their third studio album, Zonoscope . They will be touring this summer, and hitting Baltimore. Spin Magazine picked Cut Copy as one of the year’s 25 best concert tours, saying “This Aussie electro-pop quartet makes dance music for people who don’t like dance music. Their new album, Zonoscope, “reveals Cut Copy’s eagerness to graduate from dance-rock cult act to something more universally admired “.

So, grab a ticket ,check out Cut Copy at Rams Head Live on Wednesday, July 6th. But, don’t forget to wear your dancing shoes!

1)  Your new album, tentatively titled Marc Broussard, is available right now only at your live shows. That’s an interesting concept. Can you explain why you chose to make it available at yours before the general release?  

MB: We originally intended for the album to be released in the summer of 2010.  However, we really wanted to get it right, so we kept tweaking things so it took quite a bit longer.  The label was really cool to allow me to sell it almost 4 months prior to street date.  This way I can get out and let my fans get the first taste of what I believe is my best album to date. 

2)  Tell us about the new record. How do you feel about it? What can fans expect from it?  

 MB: Like I said, I think this is my strongest effort yet.  I feel that the songs are as strong as they’ve ever been.  As always, the fans can dance to it…they can roll down the windows and drive to it…and they can certainly cry to it.  A good album is a roller coaster of emotions, right?

 3)   We, of course are very familiar with your music from your stellar Rams Head On Stage shows over the years.  How would you describe your music to someone who isn’t familiar with it? What would you tell someone to expect from one of your live shows?

MB:  Well my recorded music i’m not very familiar with, expect for this new record. i’ve listened to that quite a bit. now, as for the live show, from my perspective it’s a little something like this… 1   2   3   4…come on shake your body baby do that conga. I know you can’t control yourself any longer. feel the rhythm of the music getting stronger, don’t you fight it ’til you’ve tried it, do that conga beat.

4)    On your past summer tour, you sold bracelets to raise money for the Gulf Watermen affected by the oil spill. Were you personally affected by the spill? Do you still live in Louisiana when you aren’t touring?

MB:  I wasn’t personally affected, but close friends of mine were.  I still live in Carencro, Louisiana on the street that I grew up in.  I’ve lived in three different houses on that street!  

 5)    The opener for your Baltimore show is Drew Holcomb – what can you tell us about him? 

MB: Drew and his wife Elie are incredible people, as are the rest of his band “The Neighbors.”  I actually met Drew through my guitar player, Nathan Dugger.  Nate is actually in Drew’s band when he’s not out touring with me.  

6)   For a newer song, your “Home” has been covered a lot, most notably by Blake Shelton on Clash of the Choirs and Kelly Clarkson during her tour. What’s it like to hear your music re-interpreted, particular in the dramatic way it was re-done by Shelton? 

 MB:  It’s always a trip hearing someone else cover your song, especially when it’s done by someone famous.    George Benson recently covered a song of mine called “Come In From The Cold” off of my SOS album and Joe Cocker cover “Hard Knocks” from my last album, Keep Coming Back.  Very humbling!!

 7)   Home was also used as the theme song for Medium – does placement like that bring with it a lot of recognition?

MB:  I’m not sure how much recognition, but it definitely adds coal to the fire.  

 8)  If you could tour with any musician for one summer, who would it be and why?

MB: Adele.  Because her new record has such a great sound.  She’s got a lot going for her right now.
