Noting the burgeoning craft beer market in Europe, Fordham has commenced shipping craft beer to the United Kingdom with the help of Heathwick, LTD. The first wave of exports delivered Copperhead Ale, Tavern Ale, Doppelbock and Helles Lager, which are being offered in pubs and liquor stores all over London. Intended to be session beers, these four styles provide an accessible introduction to the flavors and nuances of the craft beer world.

Jim Lutz, President and CEO of Fordham and Old Dominion Brewing, stated, “There are a growing number of beer drinkers in the United Kingdom looking to try something different.  They are focusing on actually tasting their beers and they want something flavorful and drinkable.  That is where the range of styles and taste within Fordham Brewing can deliver.”

Fordham and Old Dominion have been brewing high quality beverages in Dover, Delaware since 2003.  They provide tours of the brewery (located at 1284 McD Dr., Dover, DE) and provide samples of their products, such as Scotch Ale, Oak Barrel Stout, Baltic Porter and Copperhead Ale every Wednesday at 5:00 and 6:00pm, Friday at 4:30 and 6:00pm and Saturday at 12:30 and 2:00 pm.

Stevensville, MD. - Having mastered the art of comfort food over the last 14 years, Chef Jason White comes to Rams Head Shore House with a wealth of food knowledge and experience to share.

Known for his infectious personality, White arrived at Rams Head Shore House in early May. White started his cooking career in 1997 at the Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis while working under Johnson & Wales trained Executive Chef Greg “Cowboy” Richardson until 2007. Most recently he served as Executive Chef for the Eastport Yacht Club in Annapolis.

In his new role, White oversees all the culinary decisions for Rams Head Shore House, including daily specials, new menu items, special events and the entire culinary team.

A graduate of Broadneck High School in Arnold, White has called Maryland home his entire life. He and his wife, Lynn, live in Arnold with their three children.

Yes, good old Santa Claus is coming to the Rams Head Shore House this Saturday, December 4th from 8am-11am! This event runs in conjunction with Verna’s Breakfast (Voted Best on the Eastern Shore ) . Breakfast will be served from 7am-11am.

The Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis & and Savage Mill will be celebrating Thanksgiving with a specialty Thanksgiving menu. Hoping to help take the hassle out of holiday cooking, the traditional Thanksgiving menu will feature favorites such as turkey, cornbread stuffing, smashed candied yams and green bean casserole, Adults $19.95 and Children $10.95. “The Rams Head restaurant chefs came up with a unique Thanksgiving dishes, making Thanksgiving celebrations simple, tasty and affordable. Just a month ago we had no idea what a “tweet” was. Never knew the frustration of the “fail whale”. Thought a “twhirl” was nothing more than our favorite summer soft-serve. To think, when we first opened our doors in 1989 all communication was passed across the bar. All socializing was done within our walls, face to face.

The world has certainly changed since 1989. When Bill Muehlhauser had a thick Tom Sellick-esque mustache and was selling sandwiches and drafts out of the Annapolis Downbar, I’m sure he would’ve loved to “tweet” about Annapolis’ best Happy Hour bargain. Surely, the perfectly permed Paula would’ve loved to send a personalized “direct message” to each of her favorite fannypack-wearing patrons.

But it is now, on the dawn of neon’s revival, with ever-thinning iPods and expanding “tweet decks” that we have the opportunity to keep you in the know.

Chef Mary Walden and father David Cornwell, both members of the Rams Head family, have graciously decided to share this previously top-secret Cornwell Family recipe with you and yours this holiday season:

Cornwell’s Oyster Stuffing

Ingredients:

Take about a quarter of one stick of butter and gently sweat the onions and celery, making sure not to brown them, set aside.  Mix the cream and Perino, set aside. In a baking dish place a layer of ‘gently’ crushed crackers then top the crackers with part of the sauté mixture, 4-6 oysters, (depending on their size), lightly salt and pepper then top with sliced pads of butter, finish by putting just enough of the aromatic cream mixture to fill half way of the placed ingredients.  Continue to layer all the ingredients until oysters are gone. Top off with the remaining butter pads and cream mixture (leaving a ½ in. unsoaked).  Let settle at room temperature for twenty minuets, and then bake at 350 degrees for about 20-25 minuets. Set aside and enjoy a Cornwell family favorite.

The Cornwell Oyster Stuffing will be served at the Shore House if you’re not interested in cooking it yourself.
