Remembering Michael Jackson in a Totally Bad Way

Last week did you find yourself bogged down by the sadness of all the celebrity deaths? Did the thought that you will never hear Billy Mays voice screaming at you through the television make you teary? Well, our friends at the 9:30 Club certainly had the cure. An unfortunate coincidence turned into not one, but two parties celebrating the artist’s life. Who’s Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute Band was scheduled months in advance to play the nightclub, their date just happened to be the evening after Michael Jackson’s death. The show sold out instantly, and a later show was added.

Before doors, Who's Bad

Before doors, Who's Bad

Arriving before doors had opened the fans had gathered outside eagerly waiting to be let in. As the crowd outside indicated the night was going to be memorable. Once doors opened the club was filled to the max with a diverse crowd. Jackson’s unparalleled vocal abilities and revolutionary dance moves touched an astonishing amount of different people, and different generations. Truly a sight to see, this was the type of crowd that would never be together at a show again (except for our Who’s Bad concert, July 8th).

Once the show started fun ensued. With every person singing along to their favorites, dancing like crazy, and just having a good time in any way possible. Celebrating the profound artistry and appreciating a life that will never be forgotten. Who’s Bad performed the Michael Jackson favorites, complete with the proper choreography of course, and even did a Jackson 5 medley. The club equipped with a massive television screen ensured that everyone got a look at their new favorite tribute band, and their favorite MJ memories.

With an unexpected death such as this one, people needed this to come together and celebrate a life that will truly be missed. The two sold out shows in tribute to MJ was the perfect way to remember the hits and the moves, and to remind everyone of who the King of Pop truly is.

Don’t miss Who’s Bad’s return to the area!
