okay, I know it’s a little corny, but, it’s true… I’ve been booking shows for Rams Head On Stage, Live and Pier Six for the past 13+ years and have kept an old CD box titled “Box of Happiness”, in which I keep, customer comment cards, band reviews of our venues, emails from road managers etc etc. ( I’m not sayin that we never get the occasional curmudgeon or negative response from a patron, who, perhaps didn’t get to hear their favorite song, or luck into a night where the artist was signing CD’s…) But, I decided a long time ago, that it’s the Good News that is worth hanging on to ! so, I squirrel away the positives … and there are stacks of em !
Music is indeed ‘a universal language’, it moves folks, it changes lives and it is something that stays with us lucky human beings in a visceral way…. we remember moments in our lives by the ‘background’ music that accompanies them ! We, at Rams Head have the pleasure of knowing that music lovers have laughed, cried, gotten engaged, delighted in turning their kids on to music, danced, let their hair down and enjoyed every aspect of Live musical experiences through the shows we produce ! From time to time, I plan to bring you some of this ‘bits of joy’ in our weekly blog…..
ps. I’m also happy to say that when I pulled out the ‘box of happiness’ this morning, it was hiding my favorite Josh Ritter Cd !! (thought I had lost it for good !)
This week’s patron quote: Thank you for a GREAT Friday night!. The Steep Canyon Rangers were just the best!!! What a great group of young men and of course terrific musicians!!!! We really, really hope you will bring them back on a regular basis…once or twice every year. It was just a wonderful show and of course good food and drinks! Take care and thanks again. -The Lyon Family ( and 6 other friends)
