Top 5 – we’ve all played it. Our offices favorite: “Okay okay, top 5 American bands of all time. Remember! They have to be a band, not an individual singer…. American….. Mark, you’re first – go.” Together, “eclectic” doesn’t begin to describe our group’s range of taste and musical preferences. And somehow we’re all able to agree that one of those “oh, this is too hard” slots definitely, absolutely and without a doubt goes to the Beastie Beastie Beastie Beastie Boys.

In february, to mark the 20th anniversary, the Boys reissued their classic Paul’s Boutique via a digital download that included 3D interactive digital artwork. The remastered reissue is available on their interactive album-specifc site where they invite fans to upload photos and stories, tour the band’s crawlspace, and make some noises and rhymes of their own.

The Boys have also issued a Collector’s Edition of Check Your Head that includes the deluxe remastered album on 4 seperate pieces of Vinyl, immediate album and b-sides download, and a digital download of 7 music videos and one commentary video directly from the fellas. Recently, the Boys performed “So Whatcha Want” with The Roots on NBC’s Jimmy Fallon – who did not pull a Letterman and  hide under his desk.

Finishing up their soon-to-be-released Hot Sauce Committee, just two years after their fully instrumental release The Mix-Up, and now on their way to Bonaroo the Beaste Boys are showing their Baltimore fans a little gratitude – reference intended. Pay attention.

They’ve scheduled just two stops as they travel from NYC to Manchester,  the first being at our very own Rams Head Live in Baltimore on Tuesday, June 9th… Surprise!

Tickets go on sale today at 4pm. And with local radio stations betting on sell-out time down to the minute,…. what rhymes with punctual?

So your server hard crashed at 4pm on the dot when people tried to buy tickets to this show. Are they actually sold out or are you gonna restart the sale?

And you might need a bigger server so they don’t get crushed in the future.

To keep a positive spin on things, the Boys are releasing a new album so with any luck they’ll continue their tour beyond the festival circuit.

Let’s see, myself and 4 other friends all hit the site a 4pm on the dot – I actually got to “Reserve selected tickets” and the site goes down. It comes back up, and SURPRISE – SOLD OUT!

everyone at Rams Heads knows what happened is wrong but they won’t fess up, Shame on you, as bad as Live Nation. Enjoy the show! there is no way on earth that 1400 tickets sold out in 6 minutes, impossible. With a 2 ticket limit. Give me a break, The system is F’ed up.

    Shame shame shame

Stevie Wonder sold 4,000 tickets at Pier Six Pavilion in 2 minutes. Phish sold 18,000 tickets at Merriweather in 2 minutes.

Unfortunately, when the demand is that high so much boils down to luck.

  12. dave says:

how come you aren’t answering the question

how can a server crash but tickets are still sold?

    i am a persistent MF.

  13. admin says:

    Dear Dave,
We like persistence; especially when it comes to wanting to see a show at Rams Head Live. Over 15,000 persistent people jumped online yesterday at 4pm to sell out the show in less than 5 minutes!
There were 1400 tix for sale, they went fast. To answer the question, the show is sold out and the server didn’t crash. We’re so sorry… we
wish all 15,000 could come to the show.
